On January 28, 2016, Zapata County Sheriff’s Office Investigators assigned to the Laredo Police HIDTA Task Force executed a search warrant at the 1300 block and 6th Street, in Zapata, Texas. During the execution of the search warrant a male subject identified as Abraham Bernabe Presas was in possession of 32 plastic baggies containing cocaine. Another male subject identified as Ricardo Alberto Gaxiola was detained and found to be in possession of a 22 caliber pistol. While searching the structures inside the property, investigators found 2 more baggies containing cocaine, a 9mm Beretta, a two-way radio programmed with the Zapata County Sheriff’s Office frequency, two digital scales, 28 winchester .45 caliber bullets, (4) .357 mag bullets, and $1,508.46 in U.S. Currency.
Presas was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, to wit: cocaine, Felony 2. Gaxiola was released pending federal gun charges from ATF due to Gaxiola being a convicted felon. The investigation was conducted by the HIDTA Task Force Officers, The Zapata County Sheriff’s Investigators Unit, and Deputies.
